Université Internationale de la Mer

PARTNERS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

The Université Internationale de la Mer joins forces with other organisations, universities and partners to conduct projects aimed at promoting better management of marine and coastal areas

L’Université Internationale de la Mer (UIM) has entered into a partnership in 2019 with the Centre Européen de Formation Continue Maritime (CEFCM), the main operator of professional maritime training in France. The CEFCM, thanks to its exhaustive catalogue of maritime training courses, relies on the UIM to offer in the South-East of France and mainly on the French Riviera, the excellence of maritime training courses. This partnership should lead to new projects in 2022.

L’UIM and l’Université Senghor, which share common visions and values in terms of training and transmission, have worked closely together to create the MOOC “Enjeux d’une économie bleue durable” for almost 10 months. This MOOC broadcast on FunMOOC received more than 4900 registrations from French-speaking learners from all over the world during its first broadcast in 2020.

L’UIM and l’IFDD, in partnership with Université Senghor, share common visions and values in terms of training and transmission for sustainable development, and have collaborated closely on the creation of the MOOC “Challenges of a sustainable blue economy” for nearly 10 months. This MOOC, broadcast on FunMOOC, has received more than 4900 registrations from French-speaking learners from all over the world.

In 2021, the UIM and the CIC signed a partnership to develop training courses on the sustainable Blue Economy within the framework of FFL (French as a Foreign Language) seminars for foreign students (minimum Bachelor level). These training courses will be mixed, distance and face-to-face.

In 2020, the Université Internationale de la Mer signed a collaboration agreement with the Université Côte d’Azur as part of a tutorial project for students of the Master COMEDD (Communication écocitoyenne, patrimoine et développement durable)

Over the course of an academic year, the students will produce a report containing studies and recommendations, as well as elements of a communication campaign aimed at the Côte d’Azur public authorities. The theme of this work is: how to raise awareness of the preservation of marine biodiversity while developing the blue economy.

As an institutional partner, the town hall of Cagnes-sur-Mer, where the Université Internationale de la Mer (UIM) has been based since 1996, its mayor Mr Louis Nègre, the 1st deputy mayor, the deputies and the elected representatives have always supported and encouraged the actions of the UIM at local, national and international level. We would like to thank them for this.
